Great review! Personally, I'd still choose the Acer Helios 16, especially since it's currently on sale on Amazon. I'm also eagerly awaiting the redesigned Asus TUF A14 & A16 2024 model review.

i bought the acer helios 16 last year, 13th gen I9 and 4080rtx with the 250hz micro led screen. Besides predator sense being buggy with other RGB programs and my temps were high before I disabled intel turbo. It has been an amazing laptop, great build quality. I was able to pick it up on sale for 2100 on egg with retail being 2799 usd. One thing I did notice that it doesn't seem to be frequently restocked especially the 16 inch micro led version.

a lot of negative comments on the tuf. I have the A15 FA506NC-HN060W year 2024 and it is great i only do light games on it and use it for work but am very pleased with it

I can buy this machine with even better cpu (i9 - 14900hx) for 1700 €. Should I go for it, or should I go for a same priced legion with amd cpu, which is like at least 30 % worse overall? Thanks for your help guys.

I wanted an rtx 4080 laptop my budget is around 2250 usd I love Rog strix scar series will it be worth for waiting for black friday sales.

Watching this from my Helios Neo 16 but with a 14650 - 4060, it's an excellent laptop, use it mainly for editing.

Soooo what you have to understand is that, if you have a small budget buy an Ally. If you have a bigger budget buy a PC.

Finally another Acer laptop review! Also, looking at the design at 0:25 this is one of the few times where I actually prefer the design of the previous year’s model. I actually like the blue hinges on the back. :(

Base on my experience, less hardware means less problems.. The best way is to save up and buy a high end gaming laptop with 4070/4080.. Just avoid external hardwares.. definitely not worth it.

Intel Gen 12, 13 and 14 is perfectly fine on W10 if you actually change the cpu hetero policy from 4 (prefer e-cores) to 3 (prefer p-cores) and CPU Schedular policy from 0 (automatic) to 1 (all processors). I have NO issues with my I7-12700K in Windows 10 Pro no more. The same goes for W11. Thank MS for the mess....but E-cores doesnt work as intended even on W11. YOU MUST change settings manually on both OS:s. The only CPU that works well with threaddirector in W11 is Intel Gen 14. No one wanted E-cores...but here we are. Alois Kraus has an article about this...search for "Hybrid CPU Performance on Windows 10 and 11"

The design its my loved one, i love this laptop design cause it looks like a car, Jarrods tech hear me out, this laptop was updated for 2024 an probably fixed all issues with its last year version, even different inside, but still this its the last gaming agresive design laptop of MSI, cause on 2024, all their line up just make thinner gaming laptops, which its not the thing i would call an "improvement" if a want to make a meaningfull upgrade for my really decent but not future ready 17 inch (despite being advertised as an 18 inch) HP Spectre X360 Convertible from 2018, bought at a discount on 2020 for my college graduation, it seem like it could handle but as time passes, its design its getting more and more 2015 than 2019-ish, but i dont plan to buy any new laptop until 2036 so this its only a glimpse of the future for me and by 2036 laptops could have 96 core cpu beasts and even a GPU that could be equivalent to 25 times the power of a RTX 4090 desktop version GPU, and most shockingly of all, all ARM based 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 thanks to 1 nm process node, but still, lets just wait for that to develop by itself

The problem with Linux compatibility with Predator is that, fans are not PWM. Meaning, they are not controllable from anywhere except predatorsense software. I have 2023 model rtx 4050, i7. Everything is awesome, but when I use linux for development, it just becomes hotter and hotter while fans sit at idle. Major inconvenience. Other than this, everything is awesome and is definitely recommended

It's been a while since I bought a laptop ever since I got my rog flow z 13 and then a handheld i believe this is the future if gaming on the go is the main target at least no more heating and try cooling issues because the choice's are many

I hope the Acer model becomes a sleeper hit. This is amazing performance comparable to some i9s shows how much they tweaked the laptop... it's like a Toyota Supra in it's current state, clear and assuming overachiever.

£1000 is not budget

4070 laptops..waste of money. Terrible GPU, 8GB of VRAM and a lousy 128bit memory bus. The card will be next to useless in all the upcoming UE5 powered games over the next couple of years.

I had this laptop, but I returned it because the temperature on the CPU was always at 99 degrees. Didn't matter what game I played, if I maxed out the fans, it was always at 99 degrees. It was throttling a lot and I had massive frame drops.
